Dell Latitude e5520 Windows XP AHCI

The dell latitude e5520 has an AHCI option in the bios turned on by default. Rather than trying to get the f6 driver to work I changed the SATA operation to ATA and installed an image from another computer. I wanted to install the AHCI and thought I could easily follow one of the guides I had found online to change the driver to one compatible with AHCI. Using the dell driver download or the intel driver download did not work. I downloaded the Intel f6 drivers (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?lang=eng&DownloadType=Drivers&OSFullname=Windows+XP++Professional*&ProductID=2101&DwnldID=20625) and extracted them. I then updated the driver to the Intel Mobile Express Chipset AHCI driver restarted the computer booted into the bios changed the SATA operation back to AHCI and the system booted perfectly and detected the controller as AHCI.
